THE GUDWord @ the world ending? 21-21-2012

Another day another let down. I know some of you are expecting the world to end tomorrow or today depending on where you live. But i am writting this one last post just in case "this is it". Yes i took it slow as the year winded down. There are few post sitting with dust on them in my draft box, that will prob never see the light. As winter settles in and dries my skin out, i spend more time in the house so the blog-machine is back.

So today i decided to take a dip into a side of new york i have always wanted to try but never to the time. Today i went to a cheap massage parlor and had a hefty asian lady walk on my back like Mr.Furley from the Jeffersons. It had been a long day and it was only 1pm and it had been and even more difficult week; due to the fact that a friend was killed by a Hit and Run driver. I am usually dont have a difficult time processing sudden or even violent deaths. I think being that this was the first time that it wasn't a sickness or old age or the streets that helped the person expire. It is the brutality and recklessness by the driver thats disturbing. So i felt i needed a min to decompress and who better but a random massage parlor on 14th street. I walked in hoping that a fine geisha girl would slowly teach me the arts of Asian massage. instead it was a bare bone three tables separated by bed-sheet curtains. so privacy is not an option when another customer comes in and walks right by the foot of your table, while the therapist is rubbing a knot out. A nice but chunky lady took me my table and proceeded to give me a rough but relaxing massage. She used her elbows to press on pressure points, and I was surprised as hell when she got on the table and stepped her Jenny Craig ass on my back. I wondered if my back would hold up, but just when it was to much for me. she ended our pleasurable torture season. Everything went well even though they had corny atmospheric soothing music. Even though I was happy when it ended , there was no happy ending.

For the price you can't go wrong 25 bucks for 30 mins.

This is music by my brother....LEROY BROWN aka "Brown Skin Bless in the Flesh"THE HARDER THEY FALLIts not often when i hear a emcees music and i wonder where he is going to take it. Its not often the emcee is someone i know and i can be bias enough to judge this on artistic merits and sonic structure. So take this with a grain of salt... This mixtape kills most of the albums for the last 12 months.

THE GUDWORD found at Tyme Flys when your having fun

Just a few things to widen the viewpoint. Hello world. Just been absorbing life like a sponge. I spent a couple hours watching this battle #GUDSHIT THE CHUBSTER.... My brothers O.G Chino and Mr.Law drop some uber creative spontaneous combustible art! 2 comments: Links to this post AkA The GUDWORD...Soliloquy of Chaos

Slaughterous Sandy

11/1 9:37a.m

Currently at Curtis High School in Staten Island N.Y. It is being used as shelter, to harbor people displaced by hurricane Sandy. I am sleepy and begrudgingly i had to come here if I want to get a paycheck.(thanks bloombito) Working for the city has its perks but this isn't one of them at all! Its definitely an a wake up call to make sure you have a back up plan, to help you out in case of emergency. I personally suggest not just watching Surviorman , but take a survivalist class, learn how to purify water, store some non-persihable food, and GASOLINE STASH.

Hurricane Sandy has slowly sucked some of the life out of the tri-sate area. New Yorkers usually function with the mentality that we cannot be hurt by anything. Sandy has fully converted me into an Army Ant. Ants prepare for winter stock up and stay hunkered down. I will always heed the storm warnings in the future. I did everything possible except evacuate from my low lying flood prone neighborhood.
You will see in my videos that even though luckily my loved ones and I were seemingly safe...we should have left because this definitely was not the storm to play with.

The pictures of the damage makes you respect the frailty of humanity and how the memories of other flooding in America New Orleans or the Spring floods last year. Storm after perfect storm batters us, our will and resolve is consistently being tested in this age of Global Warming.

....a few weeks later

Nov 19. I am just having time to talk to you again. The effects of hurricane sandy are still evident. Hundreds of homes were lost thousand displaced. People hoping FEMA will help them but its really only a drop of water in a really big bucket.

THE GUDWORD : Decisions 2012

Who are these undecided folks?

It seems simple enough to make a choice left or right, is this attractive or ugly, does this taste good or not? In the press they continue to talk about politically there are undecided people, in the current American Presidential race. Those voting should take time in making a concise decision to whom will be steering this country down the road in the future. When Obama ran against Bush 2, the choice was easier because George Bush continued to show that the job was way too much for him to handle. I feel that we are a bit more stable of as nation under Obama and America stepped slightly out of the villainous shadow of the Gitmo debacle.

Whose undecided? Is it the person who voted for McCain/Palin? The tea partier? Im glad they have kept the Alaskan Kardashian off of my television screen. Watching these debates it seems Romney may have the right aspirations but he doesn't seem to relate to the grassroots of America. He doesn't seem as confused as Bush, but this job takes more than a confused businessman in my estimation.  Most people decided who they are voting for this election last election.

There are people like who will not vote outside of their party lines. So it was simple for me to decide who will get my vote. Most people just won't vote because they are not feeling these candidates. But an "undecided" person if they exists outside the televised Propaganda would surprise me.

The GudWord

Yes I'm back , took sometime to make some beats, lift a few weights, and also eat some great meals. Now back to share my lifestyle and mind state with friends of The GUDWORD. Today I was reading your blog (insert whatever blog is whack too you) and it struck me that when your life and times are limited to the length of your arms I cannot expect you to present broad topics or a wide range of ideas. Cats do reach for the stars it's just the same recycled thing over and over. And twitter heads that only repost and never have original content well they make me sick. Ok I vented once again "On with the show"

Lunchroom Battles....
Desperatley seeking Vanessa
by gudtyme

Hello Hip Hop.

I want to thank you for being the creative force that energized my life.

Welcome to Lunchroom Battles.

I hope you enjoy my ode to Hip Hop.  This is the equivalent of me losing a tape and you finding it.  If you have ever lost an ipod, CD, tape, record bag you understand that feeling. The acidic pit in your stomach as you realize you may never be able to replace your treasured music.

Growing up in the north side of Queens New York Corona to be exact.  I was lucky enough to be influenced by hip hop artist living in my neighborhood. Marly Marl and the Juice crew did shows at our local center when all Biz and Shante "1,2 1,2" routine.  You were never too far from a block party or a park jam at in my hood. I literally lived around the corner from Dj Polo 100st, Dr.Butcher 100st ,The original Cut Creator Phil  JuJu of the Beatnuts and Large Professor also living close by in East Elmhurst was Herby Luv Bug, Kid and Play, Kwame , Kool G Rap  , 5th Platoon I grew up in a hip hop hotbed.  To tell the truth so many hip hop artist lived in surounding areas like Marly Marl and Super Lover Cee (Juice Crew) and we were all less then a mile away was USA skate rink. This Skate rink was a premier place for the rappers of the day to perform on par with Latin Quarters and Red Parrot or The Fever. This venue hosted the likes of Stetsasonic, Roxanne Shante, Ultra Magnetic, K.R.S (this is the craziest cause Queensbridge was about two or three train stops away from U.S.A. And KRS-1 came and did his songs..this was at the height of the fued. Rumor was when he did south Bronx the Bridge was deep in USA and instead of saying S.B the said The Bridge)  at what was called "SuperParties".

One of the earliest and fondest memories that i have of hip hop is going on a school trip in junior high 145. We went to the Hayden planetarium as most schools did to enlighten the urban youth.  Along with a roast beef hero that i had for lunch.  I had a fresh pair of AA eveready batteries in my Sony Walkman; and a new cassette tape with Slick Rick and Dougie Fresh and the Get Fresh Crew Live in Linden Projects. They were doing this rap routine that turned into their classic songs "The Show" and " La Di Da Di". This tape was special to me; Because it was one of the few tapes circulating that included the explicit  version of the Vanessa Williams verse by Slick Rick. This was after she had nude photos of her posted in hustler  after winning Miss America.  As a young pubescent noob anything porn related was golden;  i couldn't get my hands on the mag to see the pictures, i had to settle on hearing Slick talk about Vanessa using her "smarts" him had me captivated. This version never made it too commercial radio neddless to say. and as that which happens to all treasured cassette tapes at that time  my shit got stolen. I have tried to be aware of when I had a classic piece of music or freestyle that needed to be dead stocked and i have been "Desperately seeking Vanessa" ever since i lost that tape.

So then the damnedest thing happened Al Gore invented the internet and George Bush invented the "INTERNETS" and said internets slowly but surely rewarded my endless searches with musical manna to slowly be digested, consider this fiber and proteins since hip hop currently lacks the minerals and vitamins *O.C Voice*.

Another thing that inspired me was the passing of Anthony "Grand Master Roc Raida" Williams and my life long friendship with none other than turntablist extrodinaire @DJROBSWIFT.  We went to the same junior high and high school and we been making records (X-Ecutioners) touring getting this money and having fun for a long time and i hope it continues.  When Roc Raida passed it was a shock not only because he succumb to his accidental injuries but we had spoke talked joke with Raida the day before it was a Friday.  On Saturday I was left with memories of an incredible dj and a good person and father.  I shared these same memories with Rob from the beginning wit Akinyele to revolutionizing the X-Men to X-ecutioners to that tragic ending.  Experiencing all of this reminded me that if possible you should celebrate people while they are here and alive so i dedicated the first track to  my right hand man Rob Swift. He's an innovator and has always had my back, though fights, and great times like looking at Shakiras ass together laughing knowing we were the blackest thing at that MTV function.  To currently being proud that you are on ESPN making moves. #SALUTE

Out of those vaults and a relentless search for that golden verse, I found and came across an interesting amount of golden era freestyles.  I could not have created this mix without the help and support of a few people.  I need to give a shout out to DALLASPENN.COM who also grew up in this hot bed of hip hop called Corona, he has helped me in every way when it comes to this internet ish, DJ J.Period who basically taught me how to create a better mixtape.  I want to thank all the sites that have supported my releases. Onsmash, Nah Right, 2dopeboyz, @DartAdams of BastardSwordsman , OkayPlayer, HipHop Wired, complex my brother @DayDog and plenty others. Gotta shout the Queen Grape Dutches cause she got ignored while i worked on this project.  Big shout to Dj JMarkx for never letting me quit!

The term "Lunchroom Battles" refers to the time we spent at lunch either banging on the table and saying rhymes or arguing at lunch who was the best rapper (Grand Master Caz Vs Kool Moe Dee),  group (Cold Crush vs Furious Five) , breaker (Crazy Legs VS Frost Freeze (RIP))  , grapher (Phase 2 vs Dondi) , or DJ (Bambatta vs Kool Herc)
I wanted this mix to be reminiscent of the old school pause tapes, that I use to make from listening to 98.7Kiss or 105.9 Supreme Team show, or Mr. Magic and Marly Marl on 107.5fm. I wanted that feeling I use to feel seeing artist like Big Daddy Kane or Stetsasonic live on stage.  I wanted to capture the creative and story telling aspect of hip hop that has been diminished in today's material centric HipHop world.

In this digital age, all of these analog dusty recordings were like ancient relics that a procurer and preserver of hip hop had to restore. Im the curator of this hip hop musical museum. I hope you enjoy!!!

The GudWord : Sleeping Dogs

I guess it's time to wake back up. I have been sleeping with the cousin of death. Recklessly fornicating with snoring the moment away. But I feel like I'm on a charger pad energizing the battery to full again.

THE GUDWORD - Single Solo No More No Less

Are we our brothers keeper? How responsible are we for other peoples actions? I have been asking myself this question lately. How much love do we show those that are not your blood relative. Which cirle of influence and friends do i support in my venn diagram? I am usually pretty cold blooded like Rick James, i find that taking on other peoples problems will only age you from the stress. It is pretty easy to let your own life blind you to other peoples situations. Whodini said it best "Friends How many of us have them, Friends the ones we can depend on."

I have not had the time or the mental power to post anything of substance for the last month or two. I needed a bit of rest and inspiration and recently i was lucky enough to have a bit of both. As i savor the last few hours of my self diagnosed mental health day off from work. I will get a another hour in at the gym and hopefully go see Batman, and see if it worth all of the hoopla that i have been hearing.

A hip hop golden goose egg.

NAS and AKINYELE  live circa 1991

What a day it has been. If this is the first time you have visited my site, I thank you for coming through. I was talking to my boy DALLASPENN.COM today. We usually politic on how to take over the world, we both have had moments where a little bit of the light shines down from HipHops invisible fortress of solitude. Today was such a day I like to thank all of the people that gave me some support today. In no particular order DALLASPENN,  DJROBSWIFT, BOOGIEBLIND, NAH RIGHT, DJ WISHBONE, DART ADAMS, DATWON THOMAS, TAHERO, NISARG,QUEEN DUTCHES you all were so influential in getting this music that i have treasured since that hot summers day in 1991 out to the the "INTERNETS".

Dj Johnny Wishbone is a child hood friend from Corona, Queens. In our high school days. I happen to be at his house and he tells me AK is going to bring Nas to the hood, to drop a freestyle for his next mixtape. Live at the BBQ was new it wasn't recognized as the hands down classic that it turned out to be.  Lucky me right place right time. I remember making sure that i had a cassette tape to capture the moment.

  off of LUNCHROOM BATTLES..coming soon..

It's a scorcher it out there boys and girls. Mother nature has her oven on and is cooking a roast. Summer fashion is usually the best in NY, ranging from lightly dressed to bathing suit optional. Last night I watched the Heat win their second NBA finals award. It is Lebrons first in a line of many more championship rings, I envision him winning. Being a fan of the game I really appreciate this win. It has been a very long time since the last time I cared about an NBA finals. I mean actual anxiety towards a team winning or losing, when they were not my main team the Knicks. These Finals challenged two teams of equal caliber and character in a contest of champions. And when the team I rooted for won the ring and banner that they sought, it made me feel real good( even if it's the nemesis team).

Women are wear the sexy punk rock look. I have seen an influx of funky spikes and studs emerging in the fashion world. It's a but nuveo for me. I do like the look

Another summer and the city and as if on cue, it's blazing hot in NYC immediately. Mother Nature gave us a easy winter and summer started on time for once. In the midst of watching the Miami Heat basketball team out work the Oklahoma Thunder during these finals. I feel like the only one rooting for the Heat. I'm rooting for Lebron to win his ring after having to slave for the Cavaliers. I have learned not to root emotionally in a basketball game. I do it with the Knicks every year; and I did it during Lebrons bid with Cleveland. To all the Heat haters "Stop the blod clot crying" in the "League" you have to lose to win!#DefendQueens #SummerJawn50 Cent X Hayes SlaughterhouseDavid Banner

Rest in power Anthony Williams aka Grand Master Roc Raida. Today would have been his 40th birthday. In honor of that fact here is a drop celebrating him. Dj Babu and El da Sensei take a minuet to reflect on good times spent with Raida.

THE GUDWORD..PAGE 4..La Vida Sigue Adelante..the world keepsmovingforward 2

So pretty much as it happens every year, i put another charge on my credit card as a reminder that another year has passed since i started the GUDWORD. I have to thank my steady supporters DALLASPENN.COM, EDDE GNZ, DJ MARKX, TAHERO, and my queen The Dutches of Grape. I initially started it with hopes of selling something to the people, but i have had more personal fulfillment just giving you what i thought was crack rocks like this

ASAP ROCKY JOINT Shout out to the bits!!!

Not going to be long winded about this but without you this shit wont work!!! Thanks for the support internets!!

Another night and I unfortunately expect the Knickerbockers to take a loss. Not only due to being matched up against one of the best teams in the League. But the overall foolery that has been the Knicks organization for the last 20 years. Hopefully during the off season they will cut the fat and add another center to back Tyson Chandler up, hopefully Amare will clear his mind and find his game. All Anthony needs to do is stay healthy during the Olympic games this summer. Once again after all the twists and turns this summer I am left with same expression I have repeated over and over again at the end of the NBA season....#FuckingKnicks

Living the life.

Check this new Jawn feat my peoples L.I.F.E Long

My Knicks got smacked in Miami. The heat took no prisoners and drew first blood. Chandler did give Lebron a bit of whiplash which was reminiscent of old school NY vs MIAMI rivalry, but the League is soft and fouls are called to often and and unnecessarily these days.  Well hopefully Monday nights game will be better and we even the odds, until then vibe out to

Dontrevius Wenters and us fantasizing Knicks Fans.

On some old school shit this looks interesting.

WWW.FLAMPRO AKA THE GUDWORD ...these are the voyages of thestar trek enterprise

Fin de semana. Another week ending. Let's see what this weekend will bring. I'm hoping to update my music page add some more beats and other content so stay tuned.
I felt a bit nostalgic when i got to see the Space Shuttle Enterprise , slowy glide over downtown N.Y this morning, on its way to retirement. I can remeber vividly where i was when i saw the Space shuttle "Challenger" explode. I was walking on roosevelt ave in Queens on my way to some school i hated. I happen to look into one of the store windows i was passing and there was a t.v playing what looked to be what i thought was the outer rockets releasing from the main ship. However the smoke was all that was left of that ship. Most tradgedies advance technology however it happened more than once so i guess the obvous chice for them was to try a new design. So out with the old and in with the new as they say.  Anyway it was cool to see the shuttle on its way to retirement on the intrepid. it was cool to be caught in a New York moment.
